Earlier this week the Pleb Book Club (PBC) has finished up reading The Voyage of Sorcerer II by J. Craig Venter & David Ewing Duncan, which you can find here on Amazon. I loved every page of this book.
It’s the kind of book that makes you want to drop whatever you’re doing to go be a vacation scientist on a hundred foot yacht turned research vessel, mapping genomes and sipping rainbow colored drinks in exotic places. That sounds like the life!
Next up for the Pleb Book Club, we have just started reading The End of the World Is Just the Beginning: Mapping the Collapse of Globalization by Peter Zeihan. I’m only about 30 pages in, but so far it’s super interesting. Shout out to the homie on Telegram that recommended this one.
In the news today to kick things off, we have a thief who drove a stolen backhoe 250 miles at a speed of up to 25 mph from Bend Oregon to Mattawa Washington. Respect.
